What is Fractional Ownership?
Fractional ownership gives you the opportunity to own part of a cottage, along with the usage rights to the property that you would expect with any other type of ownership. The weeks that you own represent your “fraction” of the cottage: the part of the cottage’s time that is yours and yours alone. You have the right to occupy the unit for a total 5 weeks a year (1 fixed summer week and 4 other seasonal weeks determined on a rotational basis). You are free to rent out any of your weeks or swap them through RCI without any pre-authorization from Corbett Cove. Units may be sold or transferred to another party.
The Corbett Cove Resort Owners Association (CCROA)
CCROA is a member-owned corporation that holds legal title to the Corbett buildings and property. It is managed by a member-elected Board of Directors (all of whom are fellow Members). The property is managed by a third party management services company.
CCROA pays for all maintenance and operating costs wich are funded annually by owners through a fee assessment. The annual assessment includes a contribution to the Capital Reserve Account which is used for major repairs and replacement of equipment.
Maintenance-Free
The Corbett Cove property is fully managed by a management company, giving you the freedom to arrive, unpack and simply enjoy, without the worry of upkeep and maintenance.
Equity Investment
You share the cost of ownership of the property with other owners, therefore you are buying a piece of equity in the property. You can choose to sell your fraction in the future or bequeath it.
Rental & Exchange
Corbett Cove has an affiliation with RCI, the largest vacation exchange network in the world with vacation destinations all over the world. Or, rent your weeks privately to friends and family.
How it Works
Fractional ownership is a very affordable way to enjoy annual holidays in Muskoka. Each fraction purchased entitles you to enjoy your cottage for a specific number of assigned fixed and floating weeks every year.
Corbett Cove uses a five week fraction system featuring one summer fixed week and four rotating weeks according to a selection schedule. Each fraction is assigned to a specific villa.
